Our Mission

Every Sunday morning we come together to worship God. This is a time of teaching and song, dialogue and meditation. Daily we strive to make worship our predominant lifestyle.

We serve communion weekly, which is offered to all Christ-followers, and we collect tithes and offerings from our regular attendees. At our worship gatherings, dress is casual and children of all ages are welcome. Our children’s ministry is a place where kids are encouraged to grow in their relationship with God and others.

While our worship gatherings are often the scene of hugs and laughter, intimate relationships are forged in Small Groups. These small collections of individuals meet weekly in homes, at church and coffee shops to discuss the bible and the weekly message, pray for each other’s needs, and serve in the community.

Veritas organizes Small Groups from September through May, in homes all over East Atlanta and Decatur. Contact Daniel DeWitt  to get connected.

Veritas exists to serve Christ by positively impacting our community and our world through outreach, volunteering and compassion. We have supported:

  • Clifton Men’s Sanctuary
  • Decatur Beach Party
  • Special Olympics
  • Emory InterVarsity
  • Druid Hills Arts Festival
  • Canning Hunger
  • Bread Coffee House
  • World Vision
  • UMC Children’s Home
  • Operation Christmas Child
  • Decatur Preservation Alliance

We are currently partnering with Street Grace and other established ministries in the fight against child sexual exploitation in Atlanta. To get involved in community outreach, contact Daniel DeWitt, Compassion Team Leader, or view our calendar of events.

Our work is made possible by the servants within the church family. From the sound board to the communion table, our church is alive with volunteers. Each week, we rely on hours of behind-the-scenes prayer and elbow grease. If you would like to add your talents to our team, we will find a place for you!
